Cultivation levels and different types of Qi
What can happen when one cultivates diligently?
The physical body is a composite of four primary elements:
Earth: Comprising bones, muscles, minerals, and more.
Fire: Representing body temperature.
Water: Involving blood and bodily fluids.
Wind: Signifying Qi movement.
Picture it as a net; when tightly entangled and closed, minimal light can penetrate. However, when all four elements loosen up, the true nature's illuminating light shines outward and inward, giving rise to two phenomena.
First level:
With this opening, the Shen consciousness (spirit) can transcend the confines of the body. For instance, one cultivator might venture to other places during meditation, while another may observe distant streets and people.
If a cultivator believes this to be enlightenment, distractions may ensue. It's essential to let them come and not misconstrue their significance.
Second Level:
As the illuminating light accumulates, a cultivator can look inside of the body. Once again, if a cultivator deems this experience as special, obstacles may arise.
There are six different types of Qi:
Hun魂- (Shen, Spirit) Yang Qi
Po 魄- Yin Qi
Yi 意 – movement Qi
Zhi 志 – calming Qi
Jin 精 – moisture -water Qi
Shen 神- dry -fire Qi
Through prolonged cultivation, a cultivator can hear teachings from the sky. These teachings were already stored in a person's consciousness, now merely opening up. Thus, there's no need for excessive excitement or the belief that this is something extraordinary.
What Should a Cultivator Do?
A cultivator should adhere to the principles of "不迷,不取,不动," which consist of three components:
不迷 (bù mí): This signifies not becoming lost or confused, whether metaphorically or literally, like not losing one's way or being misled.
不取 (bù qǔ): This means refraining from attachment or clinging to experiences or thoughts.
不动 (bù dòng): It implies remaining still or unchanging, maintaining steadfastness even in the face of external influences.
What Thoughts Should a Cultivator Think During Practice?
When it comes to thoughts, whether they are negative or positive, the ideal state is to have no thoughts. To achieve this, one can start to practice observing their thoughts including in life, eventually gaining mastery over their own mental processes.
