How much Fenfshui works for one's life?

Fengshui really works, but it is like practicing Qigong, one needs to follow the "correct" guidelines.

Over the past many years, I only did Fengshui consultation on the side, and people found me by word-of-mouth. I mostly helped people to rent or sell their houses or make new arrangements when people moved into new houses.

I did not want to go into the Fengshui field at that time, since Fengshui "masters" in China and Hongkong, like Qigong Masters now, are mixed with real and not that real energies, thus the reputation of Fengshui masters is not that great anymore. Then one day a school teacher's assistant came to me for health concerns: She has five kids and works for very little pay at a school. She also works as a house-keeper, scrubbing other's floor to feed her five kids, despite holding a M.A. degree. I found her wealth corner was simply empty and wasted. If Fengshui can help people like her who is struggling financially, then it would be worthwhile to provide tips and practices to increase their financial flow. I decided to start Fengshui workshops for the public, and following that decision, more and more people invited me to go to their houses and make Fengshui improvements.

The fact is that a person's financial situation is dependent upon the following: 30% from merit generated in the past (how much has been given out in the past), 40% from current investment (how much is given out currently) as well as one's financial decisions and responsibilities, and 30 % from Fengshui. So if a person makes the decision to practice Fengshui correctly, the energy will surely flow, but it would take the other 70% to make a huge change and increase one's fortune.

If one believes that a 100% reliance upon Fengshui alone can accomplish such huge changes, then that would lead to superstition and greed, which we should consciously avoid.

Mainly, Fengshui will of course benefit people who believe Fenghui works. It is like house plant: if it is placed in a wrong spot, without enough air and light, it is not going to grow healthily. We want to live in a space where the energy can support us and nurture us, helping us to grow financially and spiritually.

Dreams and Reality

One night before I went to sleep, I asked for clarity about something which would help with my decision-making. During that night, I had a clear dream which was so real and answered my question perfectly. I got up as usual and drove along the freeway to work. At one moment, I felt like I had fallen into a dream world: the cars were moving; the road was smooth; and I was in the flow of earthly life. I know one day, this scene would be in my dream land. The truth is that reality might be just a dream, but the dream can be actually reality.

If a person without a regular and persistent practice is driven by random thoughts all day, the dreams during the night can also be random and without much meaning, but for a student who is into deeper and sincere self-cultivation, dreams can be crystal clear and meaningful.

I have put dreams in six categories for spiritual cultivators:

1. Memory: Something happened in the past that is stored in consciousness which needs to be processed, and is mostly repetitive.

2. Message/prediction: This conveys an important message for the present or future times; in most cases an important messenger will appear in the dream.

3. Deception: Be mindful of bring tricked, for not all the figures in dreams are real.

4. Creditor: These are mostly nightmares such as being chased, or angry figures asking for debt repayment.

5. Test: This put the self-cultivator to a test, especially with a particular precept practice. For example, if a person is cultivating to refrain from becoming angry, the dream will serve as a test to see if the person would get angry in a particular scenario.

6. Accomplishment: This reveals the level of the practice and cultivation. For example, a student dreamed she could fly and saw a big, white lotus opening up, which means her cultivation has reached a higher level.

Dreams are clear indicators for cultivation, but too many dreams or too involved dreams can make one's energy too Yin, disturbing one's sounder and deeper sleep and affecting one's health condition.

Having no dreams or not remembering dreams at all can be an indication that the person's energy is too Yang, thereby missing important soul messages.

A balanced energy means that most of the time there are no dreams, but occasionally one will have an important message dream to guide one's practice.

Note: Yin/Yang are basic concepts of the Tao; they are two opposite polarities: Yin can be the Moon, female, dark, still, sensitivity, etc; while Yang can be the Sun, male, light, active, toughness, etc.

May you have soul-guided sweet dreams!

Reminder of Sunday Taoist Light Qigong level I workshop

Dear Participants,

Welcome to the new journey of the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual healing and recovery!

Thank you so much for signing up for Taoist Light Qigong Level I workshop. There are three classes, and I hope you can participate in them all.

In the first class on February 28 from 2-4 PM, we will introduce the history of this simple, unique yet profound practice. We are going to learn and practice the first three sections of Taoist Light Qigong:
    • Work on Kidney/lower back Qi to build up our immunity and healthy foundation
    • Cleanse and strengthen the digestive and restorative Qi channels
    • Improve mental clarity, memory and concentration

In the second class on March 6th from 2-4 PM, we are going to learn the remaining two sections:
    • Connect to inner self, remove the emotional blockages, and retain inner peace
    • Receive energy directly from the universe and align ourselves to the wholeness

In the third class on March 13th from 2-4 PM, we are going to explain the meaning of the movements. In this particular form of Qigong, each individual will have different movements because people have different conditions and needs. That make this practice just right for each individual. A detailed booklet with complete information will be handed out at the third class.

Please dress comfortably and loosely when attending these classes; better not wear short pants, sandals, jewelry or perfume. If you need to make up a class which you might miss, you may contact me to arrange a private class.

I look forward to seeing you on this coming Sunday!
